The North East District Council (NEDC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified North East District residents for four (4) Casual Employee positions based in Masunga Village. This short-term opportunity is ideal for individuals who are physically fit and looking to gain temporary employment while supporting the Council’s animal control services.
Please note that only residents of the North East District are eligible to apply.

About the Role
The successful candidates will assist the North East District Council with impounding stray animals around Masunga Village. This temporary assignment requires individuals who are physically capable of working outdoors and handling duties related to animal control in support of the Council’s public safety and environmental management responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
-Be a resident of the North East District.
-Possess a valid Omang.
-Be between 18 and 60 years of age.
-Be physically and mentally fit.
-Be of sober habits.
-Provide proof of residence in the form of a stamped letter from the Kgosi or Village Development Committee (VDC).
-Have a minimum qualification of PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination).
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
-Impounding stray animals around Masunga Village.
-Assisting Council officials with animal control activities.
-Carrying out assigned duties safely and responsibly.
-Supporting the Council in maintaining public safety within the village.
-Performing any other related duties assigned during the engagement period.
Employment Conditions
- Employment is on a casual basis.
- The assignment will run for five (5) days.
- Employees will not work more than three (3) days per week.
- Daily remuneration will be P131.59 according to the A3 salary scale.
