Uncharted Africa Safari Co. is inviting applications from dedicated and conservation-minded individuals for six (6) Anti-Poaching Field Ranger positions. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Botswana’s respected safari operators and contribute directly to protecting wildlife and preserving the country’s natural heritage.
The successful candidates will become part of the Conservation and Anti-Poaching Unit and will work in the CT11 (Makgadikgadi) and NG12 (Okavango Delta) concessions. The role is ideal for physically fit, disciplined individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are committed to wildlife conservation.

About the Role
The Anti-Poaching Field Ranger will play a critical role in protecting Botswana’s wildlife and natural resources through anti-poaching patrols, surveillance, intelligence gathering and conservation support activities. Rangers will work in remote wilderness areas where they will monitor wildlife, detect illegal activities and support conservation law enforcement operations.
This position requires individuals who are committed to environmental protection, capable of working under challenging field conditions and willing to spend extended periods in remote conservation areas.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
-Conducting anti-poaching patrols on foot and by vehicle.
-Detecting, preventing and reporting illegal wildlife activities.
-Removing snares, traps and other illegal hunting equipment.
-Assisting with wildlife monitoring and environmental data collection.
-Gathering and reporting intelligence relating to wildlife crime and conservation threats.
-Monitoring and assisting in resolving human-wildlife conflict incidents.
-Maintaining patrol equipment, field gear, radios and vehicles.
-Preparing patrol reports and incident reports.
-Supporting conservation and law enforcement operations within concession areas.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should possess:
-BGCSE or an equivalent qualification.
-A valid Class B Driver’s Licence.
-Basic First Aid Certificate.
-Previous experience in conservation, anti-poaching, law enforcement, military service or a related field will be an added advantage.
-Physical fitness and the ability to work in remote wilderness environments.
-Good communication and teamwork skills.
-A clean criminal record.
-Willingness to undergo security vetting.
