Job Overview
The Grounds Lead will oversee all grounds maintenance activities across Khoemacau Mine sites. The successful candidate will supervise grounds maintenance teams and contractors while ensuring that gardens, landscapes, roadsides, public spaces and accommodation areas are clean, safe and maintained to a high standard. This role also focuses on efficient use of manpower, equipment and resources while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
-Supervise all grounds maintenance employees and contractors across Khoemacau sites.
-Plan and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.
-Oversee grass cutting, trimming, pruning, hedge maintenance and weed control.
-Supervise planting, watering, fertilising and maintenance of lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs.
-Ensure litter collection and cleanliness of roadsides, parking areas, walkways and public spaces.
-Monitor irrigation systems and promote efficient water usage.
-Coordinate pest and vegetation control activities.
-Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
-Ensure gardening equipment and tools are properly maintained and accounted for.
-Allocate manpower efficiently to meet operational priorities.
-Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and safety requirements.
-Prepare work schedules, progress reports and maintenance records.
-Recommend landscaping improvements to enhance company facilities.
-Ensure all work areas comply with housekeeping, environmental and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- BGCSE Certificate.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticulture.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience in a mining, industrial or large accommodation camp environment will be an added advantage.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high environmental and safety standards.
