Job Overview
- Position: Grade Controller 1 (Ref 318)
- Location: Motheo Copper Mine, Ghanzi, Botswana
- Field: Geology / Mining Operations

This role focuses on ensuring accurate sampling, ore marking, and material control across mining operations. You will support grade control processes and ensure materials are correctly handled from pit to plant.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure proper sampling and sample preparation procedures
- Split, collect, and package samples according to standards
- Maintain and prepare sampling equipment and consumables
- Ensure drilled holes follow planned surveys
- Verify sample sheets and drill maps before sampling
- Support ore block marking and blast preparation
- Ensure correct material identification and colour coding
- Maintain safe conditions at the ROM pad
- Monitor stockpiling and material handling processes
- Communicate between ROM pad, plant, and mining teams
- Keep accurate records of ore production and stockpiling
- Report deviations and ensure proper shift handovers
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
Requirements & Skills
- JC or BGCSE qualification (preferred)
- Valid Light Duty Vehicle Driverโs License
- Minimum 1 year experience in open pit mining
- Exposure to geological sampling and production processes
