Job Overview
- Position: Project Geologist (Ref 316) โ Fixed Term (6 Months)
- Location: Motheo Copper Mine, Ghanzi, Botswana
- Field: Geology

This role focuses on coordinating and managing drilling activities while ensuring high-quality geological data collection. You will play a key role in updating geological models and supporting exploration and resource development.
Salary / Remuneration
- Market-related mining salary
- Fixed-term contract (6 months)

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in resource drilling programmes
- Conduct detailed geological logging of drill core
- Provide technical input on drilling, sampling, and surveying
- Interpret drill data and update geological models
- Monitor drilling progress and report regularly
- Review drill plods and resolve inconsistencies
- Supervise drilling contractors and ensure compliance
- Conduct drill-rig inspections for safety and readiness
- Ensure accurate data capture and database integrity
- Submit samples for analysis in line with schedules
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Mentor junior geology staff and assistants
- Promote compliance with HSE and safety standards
Requirements & Skills
- BSc in Geology or equivalent
- Valid Botswana Class B Driverโs License
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- At least 3 years experience in the Kalahari Copperbelt
- Proven drill core logging experience
- Experience with Micromine and Leapfrog software
