This role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all permitted work across the process plant. You will manage isolation procedures, permits, and safety systems while supporting plant operations and shutdown activities.

Key Responsibilities
Permitting & Isolation Management
- Develop and maintain isolation procedures and checklists
- Issue and manage work permits in line with site standards
- Verify isolation requirements before work begins
- Conduct field audits to ensure compliance
- Improve lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) systems
Shutdown Planning & Coordination
- Integrate permitting into shutdown planning
- Coordinate shutdown work permits
- Develop and validate isolation plans
- Support readiness reviews and execution
- Participate in shutdown reviews and improvements
Compliance & Document Control
- Maintain permit registers and documentation
- Ensure compliance with legal and site requirements
- Participate in risk assessments and safety meetings
- Identify and correct procedural gaps
- Validate PFDs and P&IDs
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to safety systems
- Support training on permit and isolation procedures
- Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities
Safety Management & Leadership
- Enforce HSE policies and procedures
- Conduct inspections, briefings, and toolbox talks
- Identify hazards and implement controls
- Mentor and train plant personnel
- Support team performance and development
Requirements & Skills
- Trade qualification or Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Safety, or related field
- Valid Class B Driverโs License
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in mining or processing plants
- Strong knowledge of plant operations and safety systems
- Experience with isolation, LOTO, and permit-to-work systems
Key Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of SCADA/DCS systems (advantageous)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to train and mentor teams
