Overview
SANParks is seeking Cleaners for Agulhas National Park. The successful candidate(s) will report to the Duty Manager and must reside outside the park with their own reliable transport. This role is suited to motivated individuals with practical cleaning or hospitality experience.
Key Responsibilities
– Perform cleaning duties in chalets and guest facilities, including changing linen, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing furniture, and removing waste.
– Clean public areas such as reception, restrooms, and walkways; report damages or abnormalities to the supervisor.
– Monitor and replenish stock levels of amenities, linen, and cleaning supplies.
– Report all maintenance issues promptly as per SOP.
– Maintain service quality standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
– Assist guests courteously and professionally with basic needs.
– Adhere to hospitality service standards, including lost and found procedures.
– Support laundry functions: collection, sorting, bagging, and storage of linen.
– Follow health and safety procedures, including use of PPE and proper chemical handling.
– Ensure high standards of cleanliness and care of all issued cleaning equipment and materials.
Requirements & Skills
– Grade 12 (Matric) / NCV Level 4 or equivalent.
– 1โ2 yearsโ experience in public cleaning, tourism, or hospitality environment.
– Good written and verbal communication skills.
– Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
– Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment safely.
– Basic understanding of customer service.
– Physically fit to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
– Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
– First Aid knowledge will be an advantage.
Remuneration & Benefits
The package includes a basic salary aligned with Paterson Grade A3, plus allowances and benefits as per SANParks Conditions of Service.
