Overview
AVI Logistics Support Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within its warehouse environment. This role is essential in ensuring food safety compliance and supporting efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
– Clean warehouse floors, dispatch areas, receiving zones, offices, and common areas
– Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize surfaces according to cleaning schedules
– Clean spillages immediately to prevent hazards and contamination
– Maintain cleanliness of staff facilities such as canteens, restrooms, and change rooms
– Collect, sort, and dispose of waste according to procedures
– Handle recyclable and hazardous waste appropriately
– Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
– Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to guidelines
– Maintain cleaning equipment and report faults or shortages
– Follow health and safety regulations and wear required PPE
– Complete cleaning logs and report any issues to supervisors
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 (or equivalent)
- Previous cleaning experience (warehouse or FMCG environment advantageous)
- Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices
- Understanding of food safety standards
- Attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Safety-conscious with a strong work ethic
- Flexible and willing to assist in other areas when required
