Position Title: Data Clerk

Reports To: M&E Officer
Location: Paray Mission Hospital, Lesotho
Position Summary
Paray Mission Hospital is seeking a qualified Data Clerk to support the GAIN Project. The successful candidate will ensure accurate, complete, timely, and confidential collection, capturing, verification, analysis, and reporting of health data.
This role strengthens Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems to support clinical decision-making, program performance tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
Key Responsibilities
M&E System Strengthening
- Review and verify clinical registers, tally sheets, and reporting tools
- Conduct routine data quality checks (completeness, accuracy, consistency)
- Ensure proper organisation and safekeeping of hospital records
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and project data
- Ensure availability and correct use of registers and reporting tools
- Support adherence to national and project-specific M&E guidelines
Data Capturing, Verification, Analysis and Reporting
- Capture and update patient-level data into CommCare daily
- Compile and validate daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Submit complete and accurate reports to PIH Central Office
- Retrieve and consolidate data for reporting and audits
- Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends and gaps
- Promote data use for performance monitoring and program improvement
Coordination and Support
- Work closely with clinicians, nurse mentors, and M&E staff
- Provide on-the-job support for proper register completion
- Participate in data review meetings and supervisory visits
- Assist during internal and external audits
Other Duties
- Attend refresher trainings and workshops
- Comply with hospital and national health information standards
- Uphold professionalism and teamwork
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Statistics or a related field
- At least three (3) yearsโ experience in data entry
- Local residency will be an added advantage
- Commitment to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment (PSEAH)
