Programme Background
The project aims to support the attainment and maintenance of epidemic control in Lesotho by delivering HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. The programme targets children, adolescents, youth, pregnant and breastfeeding women (PBFW), adults living with HIV, and sub-populations at risk of HIV infection across Maseru, Mafeteng, Mohaleโs Hoek, and Thaba-Tseka districts.
Minimum Requirements
- C.O.S.C. or LGCSE
- At least five (5) yearsโ experience in HIV/TB programming
- Accredited certificate in HTS (HIV Testing and Counselling)
- At least three (3) yearsโ experience implementing the Mentor Mother Model (added advantage)

Key Performance Areas
Routine Service Delivery
Mentor Mothers will be responsible for:
- Providing health education and support on EMTCT, TB, SRH, and NCDs
- Delivering comprehensive HIV Testing Services (HTS), including recency and DBS viral load testing
- Linking HIV-positive pregnant and breastfeeding women (PBFW) and children to ART services
- Conducting PrEP screening and linking eligible clients
- Providing Enhanced Adherence Counselling (EAC)
- Conducting anthropometric measurements and recording results accurately
- Managing Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) services for children under five
- Conducting mental health screening and referrals
- Conducting TB screening, stool collection support, and linkage to care
- Facilitating TB Preventive Therapy (TPT) screening and initiation referrals
- Conducting household visits and community outreach activities
- Supporting paediatric HIV case finding and index testing
- Providing case management for Children Living with HIV (CLHIV)
- Screening for nutritional supplements and related services
- Facilitating psychosocial support groups
- Liaising with community leaders, CBOs, CSOs, and Village Health Workers
Data Reporting
- Accurate documentation of MOH HTS tools
- Collecting and compiling reports for submission
- Supporting supply chain management processes
- Ensuring accurate client records and follow-up documentation
