Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an exciting opportunity for Dispensary Support / Learner Basic Assistants across multiple locations. This programme is designed for individuals who want to build a career in the pharmaceutical sector by completing the Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant course.

Successful candidates will gain structured, hands-on training while working under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist, with the opportunity to secure permanent employment upon qualification.


Key Responsibilities

– Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines under supervision

– Support preparation and handling of non-sterile medicines

– Assist with unpacking, stocking, and merchandising dispensary items

– Maintain cleanliness and organisation of dispensary and OTC areas

– Accurately pick, pack, label, and check medication

– Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and report shortages

– Assist with patient queries, follow-ups, and script tracking

– Support call centre activities and patient communication

– Assist with medical aid authorisations and patient support services

– Ensure all tasks comply with pharmacy regulations and SOPs


Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with:
    • Mathematics (50%)
    • Life Sciences and/or Physical Science (50%)
  • Must pass a proficiency test to register with the Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • South African citizen
  • Clear criminal and credit record

Additional Advantages
