Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting Store Cleaners (8 posts) across multiple stores. You will uphold Dis-Chem’s hygiene standards across shop floors, stock rooms, dispensaries, admin offices, canteens and communal areas to ensure an appealing, safe, and customer-ready environment.

Key Responsibilities

-Deliver daily high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the store before trade; remain available to clean during operating hours as required.

-Maintain clean, stocked restrooms and canteens at all times.

-Use correct chemicals/equipment per task; display wet floor signage correctly.

-Execute store cleaning routines and maintain back-of-house standards.

-Assist customers professionally when needed; uphold Health & Safety Regulations.

-Support general housekeeping standards and ad hoc cleaning tasks.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

-Grade 12 / Matric.

–6+ months cleaning experience. (Advantageous)

-Sound command of English; basic customer service.

-Willing and able to work retail hours (weekends/holidays/shifts).

Advantageous

-Bilingual (area relevant).

-Prior retail store cleaning experience.

Competencies

-Proven cleaning know-how; trustworthy and honest.

-Customer service orientation; presentable and attentive to detail.

-Able to follow instructions and complete tasks on time.

-Good time management and reliability.

Special Conditions of Employment

-Fit for duties involving walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, lifting and moving items.

-Reliable transport and/or residence near the store.

-South African citizen.

-Clear credit and criminal record.
