Gold One Group Limited is seeking applications for a Sweeper / General Worker (Underground) position based in Brakpan. This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates who are prepared to work underground and support production teams in maintaining safe and clean working areas.


Key Requirements

  • Grade 10, 11 or equivalent ABET qualification
  • Must reside in the Ekurhuleni Region
  • South African citizen
  • Clear criminal record
  • Medically fit (as declared by the Occupational Health Centre)
  • Must be able to work underground
  • No claustrophobia (comfortable working in confined spaces)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in English (additional official languages advantageous)
  • Ability to work shifts and under pressure
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced mining environment

Main Responsibilities

– Work rotating underground shifts

– Assist production teams with sweeping ore and mud reclamation

– Identify and report unsafe conditions, materials, or equipment

– Follow all company procedures, standards, and safety regulations

– Comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)

– Uphold the companyโ€™s safety commitment:
โ€œNothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.โ€


Important Information

  • This is a sweeper position.
  • Successful candidates will undergo training at the companyโ€™s Training Centre.
  • Appointment will initially be on a 6-month fixed-term contract during the training period.
  • Permanent employment may be offered based on successful completion of training and operational requirements.
  • Candidates who do not meet competency requirements at the end of training may have their contract terminated.
