Job Overview
The Store Assistant will support the daily operations of the warehouse by receiving, storing, issuing and maintaining accurate records of materials, tools and equipment. The successful candidate will help ensure that supplies are readily available to support mining operations while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
-Receive, inspect and verify delivered goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
-Label, bin and store materials according to warehouse procedures.
-Issue materials and tools against approved requisitions.
-Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards and inventory system data.
-Assist with stock counts, cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
-Keep the warehouse clean, organised and compliant with Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) standards.
-Report damaged, expired or non-conforming stock to the Stores Supervisor.
-Prepare material kits for planned maintenance and shutdown activities.
-Coordinate with procurement and maintenance teams to ensure stock is replenished on time.
-Ensure the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials and consumables.
-File and maintain delivery notes, issue vouchers, requisitions and other warehouse documentation.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- BGCSE Certificate.
- A Certificate in Stores Management, Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in stores, warehousing or inventory control.
- Experience in a mining or industrial environment will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with maintenance or operational materials is preferred.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer literacy and inventory management skills.
