Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packer for its Melrose Arch store. The role focuses on ensuring accurate receiving, handling, and packing of stock in line with company standards while supporting efficient store operations.

Key Responsibilities

– Offload stock from delivery vehicles and verify incoming goods

– Ensure all items received are correctly allocated and recorded

– Sort and pack products neatly onto pallets for easy checking

– Assist the Receiving Clerk with stock verification and handling

– Pack stock accurately onto shelves or designated storage areas

– Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrectly labelled items

– Handle goods carefully to prevent damage or injury

– Complete required documentation for any damages or incidents

– Maintain adherence to company procedures and safety standards

Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
Minimum 6 months’ experience in retail receiving or packing
Basic numeracy skills
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Skills & Competencies

Strong attention to detail
Good communication skills (English required)
Understanding of logistics and stock handling processes
Honest, reliable, and trustworthy
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment

Physically fit to lift and move heavy stock
Reliable transport or residence near the store
Clear criminal and credit record
South African citizenship
