Overview

Medirite Plus Atteridgeville is currently seeking a Frontshop Controller / Cashier to join its retail team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily store operations by assisting customers, managing point-of-sale transactions, and ensuring merchandise is well displayed and stocked.

This role is ideal for individuals who are customer-focused, energetic, and enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

– Process customer transactions and manage payments according to company procedures.

– Balance daily sales and receipts accurately.

– Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process payments and refunds.

– Restock merchandise and organise the sales floor according to store standards.

– Maintain accurate pricing and conduct regular price checks.

– Assist customers with product enquiries and recommend suitable products.

– Stay informed about store promotions and new products.

– Maintain visual merchandising standards and store presentation.

– Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the retail floor.

– Handle customer queries and escalate issues to management when required.

Requirements & Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • At least 5 monthsโ€™ experience operating a till or POS system in a retail environment.

Experience

  • Previous experience in retail sales and working on the shop floor and at the cash counter.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of customer service principles.
  • Knowledge of stock receiving procedures and merchandising standards.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Bilingual ability (Afrikaans and English) is advantageous.
  • Friendly and professional personality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
