Overview

GWK Retail, part of the VKB Group, is seeking a Cashier to join its team in Hartsvallei, Jan Kempdorp. VKB Group is a leading agricultural company supporting farmers and delivering farm-to-consumer food products across South Africa. This role is ideal for a customer-focused individual who can efficiently manage transactions and deliver excellent service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

– Process customer purchases and transactions at the paypoint.

– Provide professional and friendly customer service.

– Receive and allocate customer payments accurately.

– Process card transactions and perform related back-office duties.

– Conduct daily cash and cheque banking procedures.

– Complete daily administrative tasks related to cashier operations.

– Maintain security procedures and assist with loss control.

Requirements & Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a cashier or similar customer service role will be advantageous.

  • Strong customer service and people skills.
  • Good administrative and organisational abilities.
  • Numeracy skills with attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to handle conflict professionally.
  • Energetic, friendly, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
