Job Overview
Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa is looking for a friendly, customer-focused Cashier to join the team at the Cape Gate store. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, are confident with numbers, and take pride in delivering a positive shopping experience to customers of all ages.
As a Cashier, you will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, assisting customers at point of sale, and supporting store performance through excellent service and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
– Operate cash registers and process all approved payment methods accurately
– Provide outstanding customer service and create a positive in-store experience
– Assist customers with queries, returns, and exchanges in line with store procedures
– Promote add-on sales, promotions, and services at point of sale
– Ensure correct pricing and product displays at POS
– Prepare and balance tills at the start and end of shifts
– Participate in stock counts and stock takes
– Minimise stock loss and protect company assets
– Maintain housekeeping and merchandising standards at the checkout area
– Support advertised sales promotions and campaigns

Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Minimum of 6 months retail experience
- Reliable transport and availability to work shifts
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays

- Remain up to date with store procedures and operating standards
- Support the introduction of new systems and technologies
