Haven City Medical Clinic is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Housekeeping Assistant (Cleaner) based in Gaborone.

Overview

The Housekeeping Assistant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the medical clinic while supporting infection prevention and workplace hygiene requirements.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that the clinic remains clean, safe, professional, and welcoming at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout the clinic

• Clean patient areas, offices, waiting rooms and common areas

• Ensure cleanliness of floors, surfaces, furniture and equipment

• Dispose of waste safely and appropriately

• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and staff facilities

Infection Prevention

• Follow infection prevention and control procedures

• Maintain hygiene standards in accordance with clinic requirements

• Ensure cleaning materials are used correctly and safely

Operational Support

• Assist staff in maintaining a safe working environment

• Support daily housekeeping operations

• Ensure clinic areas remain welcoming for patients and visitors

• Report any maintenance or cleanliness concerns to management

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Junior Certificate (JC) or equivalent qualification

Experience

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience will be an added advantage

Language Requirements

• Ability to read and understand basic instructions in English

Experience Required?

Experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Candidates with previous cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial, hospitality, healthcare cleaning, or maintenance experience will have an added advantage.
