Overview

BUCO and TimberCity stores across South Africa are currently recruiting General Assistants to support daily store operations. The role is responsible for assisting with customer service, stock handling, loading and offloading goods, and ensuring the store yard and working areas remain clean and organised.

Successful candidates must be flexible and able to work in different areas of the store depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

– Assist customers with collecting and loading their orders.

– Help with loading and offloading vehicles including delivery trucks and customer vehicles.

– Pack and organise yard stock items properly.

– Assist with cleaning and safe keeping of company vehicles.

– Provide assistance to customers and suppliers within the store and yard.

– Perform wash bay activities when required.

– Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

– Deliver good customer service and assist customers with enquiries.

– Support daily store operations according to company policies and procedures.

– Uphold and promote the companyโ€™s values and culture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Basic product knowledge of building materials will be an advantage.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading and stock handling.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
