Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting Frontshop Assistants across several stores nationwide. These roles are responsible for maintaining merchandising standards, assisting customers on the shop floor, and supporting point-of-sale operations to ensure an excellent shopping experience.

The successful candidates will play an important role in ensuring shelves are well stocked, products are correctly displayed, and customers receive friendly and professional service in line with Dis-Chemโ€™s policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities

– Ensure product shelves are fully stocked, well organised, and correctly priced.

– Monitor expiry dates and remove damaged or expired products from shelves.

– Assist with restocking merchandise to maximise sales.

– Help customers locate products and respond to product-related queries.

– Maintain a clean, organised storeroom and shop floor environment.

– Assist with receiving, packing, loading, and off-loading stock when required.

– Process transactions and assist at the point of sale when necessary.

– Ensure accurate handling of cash and payments according to company procedures.

– Report low stock levels, damaged items, and pricing discrepancies to management.

– Assist with stocktaking and general inventory management.

– Follow Dis-Chem health, safety, and operational policies.


Requirements & Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate.
  • 0โ€“6 months retail experience.

Advantageous

  • 1 year retail experience.
  • Retail Business Management certification.

Key Competencies

  • Good understanding of retail operations and merchandising.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accuracy.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Must be willing to work retail hours.
  • South African citizen.
  • Clear criminal and credit records (MIE checks).
  • Reliable transport may be required depending on store location.
