Roles include Frontshop Assistants, Cosmetic Frontshop Assistants, Casual Frontshop Assistants, Retail Store Assistants, and Sales Assistants.


Job Purpose

To uphold Dis-Chemโ€™s merchandising and customer service standards by ensuring shelves are fully stocked, accurately priced, and neatly presented, while delivering excellent service at point of sale in line with company policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities

– Ensure full product ranges are available, well-stocked, and attractively displayed

– Monitor sell-by dates and rotate stock according to FIFO principles

– Restock shelves and assist with back shopping when required

– Handle customer queries, complaints, and compliments professionally

– Process customer transactions accurately (cash, cards, vouchers, loyalty cards)

– Ensure correct pricing, labelling, and promotional displays

– Maintain a clean, organised shop floor and storeroom

– Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking

– Identify and report damaged, expired, or missing stock

– Follow all security, health, safety, and loss-prevention procedures

– Support training of new team members where required


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric or Senior Certificate)
  • 0โ€“6 months retail experience (1 year advantageous)
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
