Job Overview

Ackermans is recruiting Shop Assistants / Cashiers (P27 and P40 Flexi) to support store operations across multiple locations. The purpose of this role is to deliver an exceptional customer shopping experience through effective merchandising, stock replenishment, housekeeping, and accurate processing of transactions at till points.

This opportunity is ideal for energetic, performance-driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and are passionate about customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

– Deliver a friendly, helpful, and professional shopping experience

– Assist customers in locating products and making purchasing decisions

– Handle customer queries and complaints efficiently

Cashier Duties

Process cash and card transactions accurately
Handle lay-bys and customer refunds
Balance tills and report discrepancies to supervisors

Merchandising & Housekeeping

– Ensure stock is correctly priced, tagged, and displayed

– Maintain product availability on the sales floor

– Keep the store clean, organised, and visually appealing

– Stay updated with current promotions and campaigns

Stock Control & Risk Management

Participate in stock takes
Ensure merchandise is security-tagged according to company policy
Identify and report suspicious or fraudulent behaviour to management
