About Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine
Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a wholly owned subsidiary of Assore Limited, is a world-class chrome ore producer located in the Limpopo Province, approximately 60 km from Lydenburg and 40 km from Burgersfort. The successful candidate will report to the Instrumentation Mechanician or designated nominee.
Minimum Educational Requirements
- Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate
- Code 08 (B) Driverโs Licence
- Advantageous: Operative Course Certificate
Experience
- Advantageous: At least 1 year of practical, trade-related experience in a heavy industrial, mining, or plant environment
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Instrumentation Aide will provide engineering support (instrumentation-focused) to the instrumentation team across mine operations to help meet production and safety targets.
Core responsibilities include:
1. Task Preparation & Execution
– Conduct a Mini Risk Assessment before starting all tasks
– Apply lock-out procedures where required
– Receive job instructions from the Mechanician and determine required resources
– Locate necessary spares and tools
– Request equipment stoppages and electrical isolation where applicable
– Carry out mechanical isolation and de-isolation
– Perform work according to approved SOPs
– Test equipment post-maintenance
– Hand over equipment to operations after work completion
– Complete job cards and submit to the Mechanician
2. Independent Tasks
- Cleaning and inspection of mass balance systems
- Inspection and cleaning of cable installations
3. Tasks Performed Under Supervision
- Assist with installation and maintenance of telephone systems and access turnstiles
- Assist with maintenance of CO and fire control systems
- Inspect UPS systems and report deviations
4. General Responsibilities
- Maintain housekeeping standards during and after tasks
- Clean and store tools correctly
