Overview

Tiger Brands is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Operator Packing / Bin Crew members to join its Pietermaritzburg production team.
These roles are vital to ensuring high-quality production, effective bin cleaning operations, and adherence to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

– Operate and monitor packing machinery to ensure efficient and safe production.

– Maintain product quality standards through consistent inspection and control.

– Coordinate the availability, cleaning, and fumigation of product bins.

– Perform bin cleaning by entering or lowering into bins using scaffolding, hoists, or safety harnesses.

– Scrape, scour, and brush bin walls and hoppers to maintain hygiene.

– Apply fumigation and cleaning chemicals as per safety and fumigation protocols.

– Lock out fumigated bins and complete all relevant safety documentation.

– Ensure all cleaning materials and tools are used efficiently and safely.

– Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance standards at all times.

– Report non-conformances and take corrective action as required.

– Participate in stock counts, variance investigations, and InfoCom sessions.

– Contribute to maintaining Tiger Brandsโ€™ operational excellence and compliance standards.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) essential.
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of machine operation, cleaning procedures, and safety standards.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including climbing and lifting.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to hygiene and safety compliance.
  • Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
