Overview

Tsabong District Council invites applications from suitably qualified residents of Khuis Village only for the position of Herdman. This role involves herding and driving stray animals for the Council while ensuring proper care, branding, and kraal management of livestock.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive stray animals from the kraal each morning to graze and return them in the evening.
  • Provide animals with water and stock feed.
  • Treat animals against ticks as instructed and report sick, dead, or infested animals.
  • Brand animals with the Council brand upon arrival to kraals.
  • Search for stray animals, recover them, and report missing livestock.
  • Inspect kraals for defects and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisors.

Entry Requirements

  • Must be a resident of Khuis Village.
  • Minimum qualification: PSLE / JC.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Must demonstrate the following competencies:

    • Following instructions and procedures.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Scale: A3 (P34,740 โ€“ P39,456 per annum).
  • Leave: 20 working days per annum.
  • Benefits:
    • Contributory Pension Fund Scheme (Government pays 15%, employee pays 5%).
    • Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 80%, employee pays 20%).
