Overview

SFI Group (Pty) Ltd, a leading company in the construction and technical services industry, is seeking two (2) dedicated Assistants to join its teams in Gauteng and the Western Cape.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic individuals who want to kickstart a career in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) sector. The successful candidates will assist qualified technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair work on various HVAC systems, while learning valuable technical and safety skills on the job.

Key Responsibilities

– Assist senior technicians with repairs, servicing, and installations of HVAC systems.

– Comply with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.

– Support preventative maintenance and general equipment care.

– Help with site preparation, setup, and housekeeping duties.

– Participate in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting under supervision.

– Maintain tools and materials in good working condition.

– Work effectively in a team to ensure project completion and service quality.

Requirements & Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric (mandatory).
  • 2 yearsโ€™ experience in HVAC or a related technical field (advantageous).
  • N1โ€“N4 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (beneficial).
  • Valid Driverโ€™s Licence (preferred but not essential).

Technical Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical tools, equipment, and HVAC components.
  • Ability to assist in maintenance and minor repair tasks.
  • Willingness to learn actively and apply new technical knowledge.

Soft Skills:

  • Attention to detail and strong safety awareness.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and dependable work ethic.
  • Good organisational and housekeeping abilities.
