Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking a DC Driver (Code 10) to join its Distribution Centre in New Germany, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely, safe, and professional delivery of goods to customers and stores, while maintaining Dis-Chem’s high service standards and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver products to customers and stores efficiently, using the most effective routes.
Verify all deliveries and ensure accurate offloading at designated destinations.
Load and offload shipments, store returns, and equipment safely and correctly.
Return all empty pallets, totes, recyclable materials, and waste to the warehouse.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure daily inspections for operational safety.
Report defects or concerns immediately to the supervisor.
Ensure the security of goods and never leave the vehicle unattended during deliveries.
Adhere to all delivery documentation and warehouse policies.
Use fuel cards strictly according to company policy.

Requirements & Skills

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate.
Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with PDP.
Minimum of 2–5 years of driving experience.
Clear criminal record and valid work permit (if not South African).
Physically fit for heavy lifting and movement of boxes.

Core Competencies:

Excellent knowledge of South African road rules and regulations.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision.
Customer service orientation and time management skills.
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
