Overview

Brights Hardware is currently recruiting a General Assistant for the Drive Thru Yard Department. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while ensuring efficient yard operations, accurate loading of goods, and maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

This position is ideal for physically fit individuals who enjoy hands-on work and assisting customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

– Load customer vehicles, delivery trucks, and transfer trucks accurately and efficiently.

– Ensure stock is properly stacked, counted, and organised.

– Assist with pulling stock for inter-branch transfers.

– Report any stock shortages or damages immediately.

– Maintain cleanliness of the yard through sweeping and good housekeeping practices.

– Assist customers with product information and provide friendly service.

– Perform tasks such as bagging sand and stone when required.

– Participate in ongoing stocktaking activities.

– Ensure work areas remain clean, safe, and organised at all times.

– Carry out any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
At least 1 year experience in a similar role (advantageous).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to count stock accurately.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit with good stamina for manual tasks.
Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work under pressure.
