Job Overview

BKB is looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join its Retail Trading team in Vrede. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, handling transactions accurately, and creating a welcoming shopping experience for customers.

As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing cash and card transactions efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service and accuracy at the till point.


Key Responsibilities

– Process all cash and card payments accurately and issue receipts

– Operate point-of-sale systems, scanners, scales, and cash registers

– Greet customers warmly when entering or leaving the store

– Assist customers with enquiries, product locations, and basic recommendations

– Resolve customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner

– Maintain accurate records of daily transactions

– Keep the checkout area clean, organised, and presentable

– Work closely with team members to ensure smooth store operations


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • 2โ€“3 yearsโ€™ experience in a retail cashier or sales environment
  • Basic computer literacy and experience using POS equipment
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Good numerical ability and attention to detail
  • Customer-service oriented with a positive attitude
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and handle items when required
