Adendorff Machinery Mart is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Retail Shop Assistant to join the team at our Durban Umbilo branch. If you enjoy tools, machinery, and hands-on technical products, this is an excellent opportunity to grow within a reputable national retailer.
About the Role
This position involves assisting customers, merchandising stock, and supporting daily retail operations. Candidates with exposure to automotive, engineering, tools, or hardware environments will have a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
– Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product enquiries
– Support sales activities and maintain strong product knowledge
– Merchandising: ensure shelves are well-presented and fully stocked
– Assist with stock control, stock counts, and receiving of goods
– Uphold retail branch procedures and maintain store cleanliness
– Work effectively as part of a team
Minimum Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Previous retail experience (automotive/tools/engineering environment beneficial)
- Technical knowledge of DIY, hardware, tools or machinery (advantageous)
- Reliable, honest, and able to function well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Working Hours
- Monday โ Friday: 08:00 โ 17:00
- Saturday: 08:00 โ 13:00
