Overview

Ackermans is currently recruiting Shop Assistant / Cashiers to join its retail stores across Gauteng. The purpose of this role is to deliver an excellent shopping experience through customer service, merchandising, stock replenishment, and efficient till operations.

This opportunity is ideal for energetic, motivated individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

– Assist customers in finding products and provide friendly support.

– Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.

– Ensure a positive and enjoyable shopping experience.

Cashier Duties

– Process cash and card transactions accurately.

– Handle lay-bys, refunds, and exchanges.

– Perform daily till balancing and report discrepancies.

Merchandising & Stock

  • Ensure products are correctly priced and displayed.
  • Maintain stock availability on the sales floor.
  • Keep up to date with store promotions and campaigns.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and housekeeping standards.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure products are properly tagged.
  • Participate in stocktakes.
  • Monitor and report suspicious behaviour or potential theft.

Company Standards

  • Follow Ackermans policies, procedures, and company values at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills (English required; additional languages advantageous).
  • High energy levels and a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven.
  • Previous retail experience will be an advantage.
