Job Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting Cashiers and Casual Cashiers across multiple stores nationwide. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale while ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient processing of customer transactions in line with Dis-Chemโ€™s policies and standard operating procedures.


Key Responsibilities

– Process all customer purchases accurately using the Dis-Chem POS system

– Handle cash, card, vouchers, coupons, and electronic payments

– Promote and process loyalty programmes and partner rewards

– Maintain accurate cash handling with zero tolerance for discrepancies

– Ensure all items are scanned, paid for, and recorded correctly

– Follow cash control, drop-safe, and till security procedures

– Provide professional, friendly, and efficient customer service

– Address customer queries and escalate complaints when necessary

– Stay informed about current promotions and store offers

– Report suspicious behaviour and adhere to security procedures


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • At least 6 monthsโ€™ cashier or till operation experience (Senior roles require more experience)
  • Computer literacy (basic MS Office)
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
  • Good command of the English language
  • Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
