Job Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting Cashiers and Senior Cashiers for multiple stores across South Africa. These roles are essential in delivering a world-class customer experience at point of sale while ensuring accurate transaction processing, strict compliance with company policies, and zero tolerance for fraud or inaccuracies.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum 6 monthsโ€™ cashier or till experience (retail environment)
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Good command of the English language
  • Basic customer service skills
  • Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous

  • Third additional language

Key Responsibilities

– Process all customer transactions accurately on the Dis-Chem operating system

– Handle all forms of payment (cash, cards, vouchers, loyalty programmes)

– Adhere strictly to Dis-Chem SOPs and security procedures

– Maintain professional relationships with customers

– Manage cash flow, voids, refunds, and price changes with supervisor approval

– Ensure all stock items are scanned and paid for

– Promote awareness of current sales and promotions

– Process loyalty cards and accelerator partner programmes

– Identify and report suspicious behaviour

– Handle customer queries and escalate complaints when required

– Maintain confidentiality of daily takings and store information
