Role Overview
GWK Retail in Douglas is seeking a Floor Assistant to support day-to-day retail operations. The successful candidate will ensure merchandise is correctly drawn from the stockroom, prepared, marked, and neatly packed onto the sales floor.
This role includes physical work, coordination of stock flow, and contributing to a safe, organised retail environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Experience in agricultural retail (advantageous)
- 1โ3 yearsโ experience in transport, warehousing, or logistics
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays (roster-based)
- Knowledge of load planning, weight distribution & safety regulations
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy-duty tasks
- Clear criminal record
Key Responsibilities
– Draw merchandise from stockroom and prepare items for the shop floor
– Mark, label, and pack stock neatly onto shelves
– Assist with loading and unloading goods when required
– Ensure correct weight distribution and secure all loads safely
– Inspect cargo, stock documentation, and dispatch accuracy
– Communicate and coordinate with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and drivers
– Keep accurate records of stock movements and reconciliations
– Report damages, deviations, or safety concerns immediately
– Maintain a safe, clean, and customer-friendly retail environment
– Uphold VKB/GWK values and safety standards at all times
