Overview

MCE Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Credit Application Clerk / Data Capturer to join the Finance Department. The successful candidate will process and review credit applications, capture data accurately, perform credit checks, and support smooth onboarding for new and existing customers. If you are organised, analytical, and comfortable working with financial documentation, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

– Review incoming credit applications to ensure completeness and accuracy

– Capture customer and application information into credit management systems

– Conduct credit checks using internal tools and external agencies

– Verify financial documents and trade references

– Communicate with customers regarding missing documents or discrepancies

– Maintain accurate records and filing of all credit-related documentation

– Assist in assessing customer creditworthiness and recommending credit limits

– Collaborate with Finance and Sales teams to support customer onboarding

– Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures

– Prepare routine reports on application progress and credit status

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 1โ€“2 yearsโ€™ experience in credit, administration, or a finance-related environment
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • Familiarity with credit scoring systems and financial documentation is an advantage
