Role Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a responsible and professional Store Driver for their Vaal Mall branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for timely, safe, and efficient delivery of goods to customers while upholding The Local Choice Corporate Stores’ quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

– Safely transport products to customer locations in a courteous and timely manner.

– Prioritize fridge line deliveries, using cooler boxes and cold packs where necessary.

– Ensure that correct products are delivered to the correct customers within the scheduled time.

– Follow the shortest and most efficient routes for deliveries and return promptly after each trip.

– Handle all deliveries and returns with care; ensure paperwork is accurately signed and recorded.

– Repack vehicle after each trip to prevent product damage.

– Maintain cleanliness and safety of the delivery vehicle at all times.

– Adhere to road traffic regulations and company vehicle policies.

– Report all accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues immediately to management.

– Maintain an accurate vehicle logbook and hand in all receipts and documentation daily.

– Handle cash and EFT transactions correctly; no cheques accepted.

– Build and maintain professional customer relationships by delivering prompt, friendly, and reliable service.

– Comply with health and safety standards and uniform policy at all times.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

Grade 12 / Matric
Valid Driver’s License (Code 8 or higher)
Sound knowledge of road safety rules and regulations
Excellent communication skills (English: read, write, and speak fluently)

Advantageous:

Previous delivery driving experience within retail or pharmacy environments
Knowledge of an additional South African language

Special Conditions of Employment

Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts as required
May be rotated to perform other functions within the store when needed
