Role Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires Store Cleaners for multiple branches. The successful candidates will maintain a clean, hygienic and presentable environment according to Dis-Chem’s health and hygiene standards across all store sections — including the shop floor, stockroom, dispensary, admin office, canteen and restrooms.

Key Responsibilities

– Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the store and communal areas daily.

– Follow cleaning routines and ensure restrooms and canteen areas are stocked and sanitized.

– Use correct cleaning materials and tools for specific jobs; ensure wet floor signs are visible.

– Provide professional, friendly customer assistance when needed.

– Comply with all Health & Safety regulations in the workplace.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

Grade 12 / Matric
Minimum 6 months’ cleaning experience
Good command of English
Basic customer service knowledge
Willing and able to work retail hours (weekends, shifts, public holidays)

Advantageous:

Bilingual (English and another South African language)
Prior retail store cleaning experience

Competencies

Strong attention to detail and reliability
Trustworthy, honest and presentable
Excellent time management and ability to follow instructions
Customer service focused and self-disciplined

Special Conditions of Employment

Physically fit to perform cleaning tasks (lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, standing, etc.)
Reliable transport / live near store
South African citizen with clear criminal and credit record
