Overview

We are looking for an energetic and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our retail team in Midrand.

Your main goal will be to ensure every customer enjoys an exceptional shopping experience while driving sales and maintaining store excellence.

Key Responsibilities

– Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure every shopper feels valued.

– Assist customers in locating, selecting, and purchasing desired products.

– Maintain high store presentation standards and ensure shelves are always fully stocked.

– Handle point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately and efficiently.

– Welcome and greet customers in a friendly, professional manner.

– Stay informed about current promotions, discounts, and new stock arrivals.

– Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new shipments.

– Maintain proper visual merchandising and product display standards.

– Keep the store environment neat, organized, and inviting at all times.

– Communicate effectively with team members and management.

– Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
  • Previous experience as a Shop Assistant or in a retail sales/customer service role.
  • Must reside within 9km of Midrand.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including Sundays and public holidays.

Preferred Attributes

  • South African citizen.
  • Candidates with own transport will have an advantage.
  • Preference may be given to male candidates aged 18โ€“65.
  • Confident, reliable, and results-driven.
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
  • Good understanding of sales techniques and customer engagement.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet sales targets.
