As a Cashier, youโ€™ll be responsible for operating tills, handling transactions, maintaining accuracy, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable checkout experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities

– Prepare and manage the cash float before and after each shift.

– Accurately operate tills and scanners to process customer purchases efficiently.

– Receive, count, and process all forms of payment (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.).

– Minimise wastage, shrinkage, and damages through proper handling of stock.

– Maintain high hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards at all times.

– Adhere to all security procedures and company policies.

– Clean and maintain checkout equipment according to standards.

– Provide friendly, professional customer service, responding to queries courteously.

– Demonstrate numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and ethical behaviour in all transactions.

– Manage time effectively and assist with store operations as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 (essential); Grade 12 (advantageous).
  • Computer literate (advantageous).
  • Proficient in English communication (verbal and written).
  • Basic numeracy and strong attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to work flexible retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
