We are looking for a Stock Controller at Tshepo Themba Private Hospital (Soweto) to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant management of all pharmaceutical and theatre stock within the hospital.

This position requires a responsible, detail-oriented individual who can maintain strong stock control systems while collaborating effectively with multiple departments to support optimal patient care.


Key Responsibilities

– Maintain accurate stock levels by ordering, receiving, issuing, and reconciling stock according to hospital procedures.

– Conduct cyclic and monthly stock counts to prevent losses and ensure proper rotation of items.

– Manage barcoding, labeling, and packing of all surgical and pharmaceutical items.

– Capture and verify stock transfers, credits, and invoices accurately in SAP or similar systems.

– Ensure timely replenishment of theatre and ward supplies to avoid stockouts.

– Follow Lean management principles to reduce wastage while maintaining high standards of patient care.

– Monitor consignment and theatre stock, ensuring accurate usage records.

– Collaborate with the Pharmacy, Procurement, and Theatre teams to streamline stock processes.

– Uphold all hospital policies, safety regulations, and ethical standards in stock handling.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
  • 2โ€“4 yearsโ€™ experience in stock control, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical, consignment, and theatre stock procedures.
  • Computer literacy โ€“ SAP or equivalent system proficiency essential.
  • Prior administrative experience in a hospital environment will be advantageous.
