Position Overview
Weโre hiring a Driver Assistant (Permanent Part-Time) to join our Transport Division in Epping, Cape Town.
This role plays a vital part in supporting delivery operations by assisting drivers with loading, offloading, and document handling, ensuring timely and professional service to our customers.
Youโll report directly to the Transport Controller and work closely with the logistics team to keep our distribution running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Operational Support
– Assist drivers with collection and delivery of goods, parcels, and documents.
– Ensure all items are accompanied by accurate Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
– Support urgent deliveries across the Cape Town area, even outside standard hours when needed.
– Assist with local distribution and early or night-time deliveries when required.
– Verify and check goods during loading and offloading to ensure accuracy.
– Report any shortages, damages, or extra stock immediately to the Debrief Clerk and Transport Controller.
Customer Service & Representation
- Represent Indigo Brands professionally during all deliveries and collections.
- Adhere to customer site policies and maintain excellent personal presentation.
- Communicate effectively and uphold the companyโs reputation at all times.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Wear appropriate PPE and comply with all health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the delivery area and company vehicle.
- Participate in Green Area meetings to discuss workflow improvements and safety ideas.
- Promote good housekeeping practices within the working environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling work.
- Valid Code 14 Driverโs License.
- Forklift license โ advantageous.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
