Purpose of the Role

To accurately capture, maintain, and manage buying-related data on the system while assisting the Buyer with all administrative tasks, including supplier communication, costings, and reporting.

You will also be responsible for resolving store and supplier queries and providing efficient clerical and secretarial support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the buying department.


Key Responsibilities

– Capture buying-related data accurately on the system.

– Maintain and file supplier and product documentation.

– Handle store and supplier queries via email and telephone.

– Assist with costings, pricing updates, and ranging instructions.

– Process store orders and ensure correct allocations.

– Request and compile supplier and store performance reports.

– Provide secretarial and administrative support to Buyers, including scheduling, typing, and call handling.

– Maintain confidentiality and accuracy across all buying-related tasks.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (essential).

Experience

  • Previous office administration or data capturing experience (required).
  • Experience within a retail or buying environment will be advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent data capturing accuracy and typing speed.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good time management and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of buying systems (advantageous).
