Overview
VANS (Ares Holdings) is seeking a dynamic, brand-obsessed Shop Assistant to join the Sandton crew. Youโll deliver standout customer experiences, hit sales KPIs, and keep the floor looking sharp with premium visual merchandising that reflects the VANS culture of creativity, youth, and streetwear.
Key Responsibilities
– Provide exceptional, energetic customer serviceโgreet, serve, advise, and build loyal relationships.
– Drive sales through confident product knowledge, styling advice, and proactive add-on selling.
– Process transactions accurately; handle exchanges/returns per policy.
– Replenish stock, size curves, and maintain immaculate sales floor and back-of-house standards.
– Execute visual merchandising to brand guidelines; assist with window and in-store updates.
– Monitor personal KPIs and contribute to store targets; report on wins and opportunities.
– Support deliveries: receive, check, tag, price, and capture product in the POS.
– Uphold store policies on shrinkage, change-room controls, and health & safety.
– Embody and promote the VANS brand, culture, and values in every interaction.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: 1+ year sales experience (similar/lifestyle or streetwear brand advantageous).
- Brand Fit: Genuine passion for VANS, sneakers, streetwear, youth culture, and action sports.
- Customer & Sales: KPI-driven, results-focused, with a proven track record in sales and service.
- Communication: Confident verbal skills; friendly, professional, and solution-oriented.
- Operations: Comfortable with POS use, stockroom processes, and visual standards.
- Availability: Able to work retail hours, weekends, and public holidays.
- Attitude: Motivated, positive, collaborative team player.
