Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring Cashiers across 14 store locations. You’ll support world-class service at point-of-sale by processing transactions accurately, safeguarding cash, promoting loyalty programmes, and keeping checkout areas compliant with company SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

Process purchases and all tender types (cash, cards, vouchers/coupons) with zero tolerance for inaccuracies.
Maintain cash integrity: floats, drops, till balancing, signed approvals for voids/price changes.
Enrol and process loyalty cards (incl. accelerator partners where applicable).
Uphold customer service standards; handle compliments/complaints via the Frontline Supervisor.
Stay aware of current promotions; meet turnover rate and till-speed expectations.
Ensure all outgoing items are scanned and paid; follow security, hygiene and housekeeping SOPs.
Identify and report suspicious behaviour and risks immediately.

Requirements & Skills

Essential

Grade 12 / Matric.
6+ months till/cashier experience.
Computer literate (MS Office); strong numeracy and English.
Available to work retail hours (weekends/holidays).

Advantageous: a third South African language; basic report interpretation.
