Overview

Ster-Kinekor Theatres is seeking a General Assistant to join the Cedar Square branch in Johannesburg. This role is multi-functional and requires flexibility to support different cinema operations, including cashiering, food preparation, cleaning, and customer assistance.

This is a great opportunity for entry-level candidates passionate about entertainment, hospitality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Perform duties as Cashier (Box Office, Catering Sales, Collections), Cinema Assistant, Waiter, Poppers, or other assigned roles.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Ster-Kinekor products, promotions, and marketing campaigns.
Ensure cinema presentation standards are met (e.g., age restrictions displayed, posters, synopsis, disclaimers, and F&B/product displays).
Prepare and serve popcorn, slush, and other products in line with quality standards.
Assist with shift preparation and ensure smooth operations.
Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, counters, storerooms, and equipment areas.
Package and store prepared products correctly.
Submit Health & Safety (H&S) reports and comply with company safety standards.
Wear correct uniform and follow presentation standards.
Provide professional customer service and contribute to the Ster-Kinekor guest experience.

Requirements & Skills

Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12).

Experience & Knowledge

0–1 year of experience in a similar role (advantageous but not essential).
Basic MS Office skills.
Knowledge of VISTA ticketing system advantageous.
