This role supports the maintenance and operation of electrical systems, ensuring equipment availability, reliability, and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain safe working environments and adhere to safety standards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and provide technical feedback.
  • Carry out work according to planning and attend daily operational meetings.
  • Conduct plant inspections, identify faults, and perform electrical repairs.
  • Replace and repair lights, plugs, junction boxes, and light circuits.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure proper equipment utilisation.
  • Provide progress updates to supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and history for upgrades and renewals.
  • Attend training, toolbox talks, and workshops to enhance technical competency.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards and proper waste disposal practices.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the work area.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 with Maths, Science, and English OR N3 (Essential).
  • NQF 2 Electrical occupational qualification (accredited by SETA or training authority).

Experience

  • 1โ€“2 yearsโ€™ relevant electrical maintenance experience.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical workshop environments.
  • Preventative maintenance and basic electrical repair skills.

Licenses

  • Valid Driverโ€™s License (Essential).

Technical Skills

  • Voltage testing with multimeters and electrical hand tool use.
  • Troubleshooting and fault-finding.
  • Electrical fundamentals and systems knowledge.
